Privacy-First Chat Archiving: Why Your Conversations Never Belong to Advertisers
Your message history holds vulnerable vulnerabilities, shared struggles, inside jokes, and cherished moments. Here is how OnlineKotha was architected from day one to protect your digital intimacy.
In an internet landscape dominated by platforms that mine every keystroke for advertising metrics, trusting a third party with your personal WhatsApp chat archives is a massive decision. Whether reviewing decade-old family messages, remembering a lost loved one, or analyzing relationship milestones, security cannot be an afterthought.
At OnlineKotha, the foundational design mandate was clear: your memories belong strictly to you. Here is an overview of how we maintain uncompromising data sovereignty and privacy standards.
The 4 Pillars of OnlineKotha's Security Model
1. Zero Ad Networks or Data Brokerage
Unlike 'free' conversion utilities that monetize by indexing email addresses or scanning message contents for commercial intent, OnlineKotha operates on a simple subscription model ($6/mo or $49 lifetime). We will never sell, lease, or syndicate user chat data.
2. Localized Cache & Isolated User Silos
Uploaded zip files are parsed into sandboxed user folders isolated by strict cryptographic session tokens. Raw uploads never spill across tenant domains, and each user maintains sole discretion to delete individual chats or purge their entire account permanently.
3. Ephemeral AI Context Processing
When using AI features or Wrapped analytics, the system executes real-time context lookups over message slices to evaluate tone, stats, and answers. Your chat history is not dumped into persistent AI training pools or used to retrain foundational models.
4. Permanent Hard Deletes On Demand
When you click 'Delete' on a chat in OnlineKotha, it is instantly wiped from disk and file indexes. We do not maintain stealth ghost copies or hidden archive states.
Why WhatsApp's Built-in Search Is Not Enough
WhatsApp's desktop and mobile apps often lag or fail entirely when searching across 50,000+ messages spanning multiple years. Older messages frequently drop off or media links become broken during phone transfers. OnlineKotha solves this by creating a reliable personal archive vault where:
- Search queries across 100,000+ messages return in less than 20 milliseconds.
- Voice notes (.opus), videos, and photos remain neatly organized and playable directly in chat bubbles.
- "On This Day" features resurface memories from 1, 3, or 5 years ago without manually scrolling backwards.
