The Friendship Index: What 100,000 Group Chat Messages Say About Your Crew
Every friend group has unwritten archetypes: the relentless meme spammer, the voice-note podcaster, the planner whose trips get cancelled, and the lurker who drops one single emoji every six months. Let's put numbers to the madness.
If you have been in the same college or school group chat for 5+ years, that thread contains an entire decade's worth of graduation stress, wedding announcements, job switches, and late-night inside jokes that would make zero sense to an outsider.
Yet WhatsApp gives you no way to inspect group history holistically. You can't see who actually speaks the most, who dropped off after getting into a relationship, or which month in 2021 had your wildest banter. OnlineKotha's group analytics engine cracks this wide open.
The 4 Group Chat Archetypes Found in Every Export
The Voice Note Podcaster
Never types more than 3 words. Sends 4-minute voice messages describing minor grocery shopping adventures. Responsible for 80% of audio media in the group.
The Strategic Lurker
Online 24/7. Reads every dramatic paragraph within 10 seconds. Contributes 0.4% of total group messages, usually a single laughing emoji or 'rip'.
The Goa Trip Organizer
Responsible for 95% of messages ending in question marks. Spends entire weeks drafting itineraries that inevitably fall apart in the 11th hour.
The Midnight Chaos Agent
Only speaks between 1:00 AM and 3:30 AM on weekdays. Drops controversial takes, unhinged screenshots, and disappears before sunrise.
